Extreme High Heels - The New Wave in Outrageous
May 15, 2011 Fashion No CommentsThere are high heels, and then there are super high heels. In terms of “super high” we’re talking about 6, 7, or 8 inch heels or even more in addition to squeezing the foot in a awkward position. They look painful, just imagine wearing them! Extreme high heels are called extreme for a reason, after all, these shoes cater to a specific people who enjoy wearing shoes that make them walk awkwardly or on their tippy-toes. It may sound strange to most people, but to those who enjoy wearing extreme high heels, it’s a beautiful thing.
If you’ve ever seen a pair of extreme high heels, then you’ll understand. The ballet-slipper heels, for example, are popular with fetish enthusiasts and force the wearer to walk on tip-toes, much like a ballerina. The top of the shoe looks exactly like a ballet flat, propped up on a 7- to 8-inch heel, or higher in some cases.
The lack of a platform for the ball of the foot, coupled with the high heel in the back, puts the foot in a position such that only small steps can be taken. It’s like a hobble skirt for the foot. There’s no way you can run while wearing these, nor is it recommended that you try. You will fall down, guaranteed.
While they don’t look terribly comfortable to walk in, there’s no denying that there is a segment of the population that finds these extreme high heels sexy to both look at and walk in. As with most high heeled shoes, they make the legs look really good. They’re outrageous shoes, and no sane person should want to walk in them, but they’re considered to be the new wave in outrageous. Outrageous is a good word to describe them. If the tip-toe walking isn’t enough of a sight to start asking questions, the wacky designs make them great conversation starters!
If you want to be part of this new wave in outrageous, buying a pair of extreme high heels is the place to start. Trying to walk in them is a sight to behold and an adventure all by itself. You’ll inevitably fall several times in the process, so some bumps and bruises are expected. Of course, these shoes aren’t for everyone, so if you feel like you don’t want to break an ankle or have a great fear of falling over, you’ll be better off staying far away from these shoes.
